Since we were here for the first time last year, we planned to walk around the island’s south side. A white road leads from the town of Veli Lošinj to the port, where a small boat connects Lošinj with the small island of Ilovik. We started from the shore and hiked up to the peak of Sv. Ivan (255 m) then took the road to the port. After a short break when we enjoyed the fresh sea air, we followed a well-marked path back to Veli Lošinj, but this time through the inside of the island. For the last hour, the path follows the shoreline.

All in all, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable 4-hour adventure. (You can probably do that in less, but the distance is 17 km, and if you take your time to enjoy, four hours is a realistic estimate.)
