This is one of those cycling routes that you will remember! If you have a bike (or rented one) somewhere near Orebić on Pelješac, Croatia, you might want to repeat exactly what we did: a morning ferry to Korčula (not even a 20-minute pleasant ride), and then from the port of Dominče to Lumbarda. You will spend the first few kilometers on the busy main road to Korčula, but as soon as you turn towards Lumbarda, you will come across a fairly wide paved bike lane.
The turnoff to the most beautiful part of the route is not marked (in fact, there are no bike markings at all, which is a shame), so it is best to download the GPX track of our route on Strava in advance: https://www.strava.com/activities/14721513094

The route will take you mainly along a narrow paved road through olive groves and vineyards. On the southern part, towards Žrnovo, you will enjoy the view of the island of Lastovo, and we were lucky enough to see all the way to the distant coast of Italy on a clear day.

After Žrnovo, about six kilometers along the main road from Korčula to Vela Luka (this part is a bit tiring due to traffic) until the small town of Pupnat, where you can rest. From Pupnat, a narrow road starts again uphill towards the northern coast of Korčula.

The last part of the path, to the town of Korčula, is again along the main road, but much less busy. After everything, you can stop in the town of Korčula, or continue to the port of Dominče and back to Orebić.
All in all – a priceless experience!
