The day after we took a hike over the Moon Platou, we decided to try it by bike. We already knew the trail was well marked (as MBT2) and shared the start with the hiking trail. So, as described in the Moon Trail Hike article, we started from the base at Kamp Mali and headed east towards the Church of St. John.
The first part of the trail is the hardest. What was a delightful and easy climb by foot turned out to be quite bumpy for our bikes. The view is magnificent, but you need some skills to master the rock on the trail.

Once you enter the Moon Platou, things get much easier. There is an unpaved road right in the middle of the plateau, and it goes slightly down all the time, so all you have to do is let gravity do its thing.
When you reach the main paved path from Punat to Baška, for two kilometers, you will have to ride together with cars (the road is narrow, and some drivers are pretty fast there). But, once you turn right and down from the main traffic, the trail is again beautiful. It follows the flow of a small river with a big name – Vela Rika (translation from lokal Croatian pronunciation is: Big River), all the way down to its mouth in the west of Baška Bay.
And here you are, again at the start after 1 hour 40 minutes and 25,75 kilometers.
Nice!
