Papuk is not a high mountain; in fact, some would call it a hill (the highest peak is 953 m). Its location in fairly flat Slavonia does not speak in its favor—until you see its beauty. We spend two days in Camp Duboka. On the first day, we took the opportunity to ride the 20km circular trail up and down the hills through the forest. You can find and download gpx track on Strava.

There are many bike trails around – you can spend days exploring them. We decided to start from our base in the Camp and follow the unpaved road up the western hills. At first, it was quite an effort to climb +400 meters, but then, after we reached the peak, what followed was the pure joy of riding through the forest, surrounded by green and brown trees, with occasional roe dear crossing our path.

We even found some mushrooms that later served well as an unexpected dinner!

Next time – there will be next time, for sure – we’ll find another path to follow. Papuk is an endless source of natural beauty.
